Fight Like Frank and Brain Aneurysm Foundation board member, Karly Soulas attended Brain Aneurysm Foundation annual research dinner in Pittsburgh, PA on September 20th. Thank you for representing us Karly! Please read about her experience.
“This is my second year at the Brain Aneurysm research dinner and it just keeps getting better! This year, we gave about $550,000 dollars to research. This is the most we have raised ever! I had the opportunity to follow up with some of the research recipients from last year and hear about their research and what has come of it. I had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Rossenwasser (Frank’s doctor) and Dr. Ogilvy to talk about how in just a few years, procedures have advanced and they are saving lives today while teaching others to do the same. In addition, i was able to meet some amazing survivors and learn their stories and why being an advocate is so important. I am still taken back when people say to me I am a champion for doing what I do for BAF or they can’t believe I would get involved with a non-profit at my age. I always tell them, when you believe in it, and know the importance of it, there is nothing that brings me great joy than helping to spread awareness of this incredible foundation and sharing Frank’s story”.
