The Brain Aneurysm Research Symposium

September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness month. Six years ago, Frank Gessler lost his life to a Brain Aneurysm. He was just 30 years old. Five years ago, we created a non-profit foundation to remember his legacy & educate others about the disease, @fightlikefrank. Five years ago, I was introduced to the @bafound. Over those five years, I have met some of the most incredible people. One year ago, they asked me to sit on the Board of Directors for the foundation. This week, I’ve had the honor of attending the annual research symposium. It was incredible to see how much research is going into brain aneurysms. Tonight, we presented $485,000 in research grants to those doing the research. The most BAF has ever given. Fight Like Frank has a chair of research with the BAF and this year, I was able to present that award to Dr. Rutledge from California. This was truly an amazing opportunity. I’m extremely humbled to be apart of this organization & I absolutely love being a voice for the disease. There is absolutely no other way I’d rather spend my time than giving back. #1in50 #brainaneurysm #fightlikefrankfoundation @ Duke University
